How we diagnose it

First thing is gauges and a meter. We check pressures, superheat and subcooling, amp draw on the compressor and fan motors, the capacitor, the contactor and the drain. That tells us what actually failed and why, so you're not paying for a part that wasn't the problem.

The diagnostic is $95 on weekdays before 5pm and $150 after 5pm or on weekends. Once we know what's wrong, you get the price for the repair before any work starts. If it's a cheap fix, we'll tell you. If the compressor is shot and the system is already old, we'll be honest about that too.

Repair or replace

Florida systems run close to year round, so they wear out faster than they do up north. Once a system is 12 to 15 years old, needs a compressor or a coil, or still runs R-22, putting money into it usually doesn't make sense. Anything younger with a simple failure, we fix it. Cut down on breakdowns
