Ductwork
Your ductwork is the backbone of the whole system. If it's undersized, leaking or falling apart, even the best equipment won't cool your house right. We design, fabricate and install custom sheet metal duct and insulated flex runs for new builds and existing homes. If your ductwork needs replacing or reworking, we'll make sure the airflow is balanced and your system can actually do its job.
Signs the duct is the problem
- One or two rooms are always hotter than the rest
- The power bill keeps creeping up
- Dust comes right back after you clean
- The house feels humid or smells musty
- Whistling or rushing air at the grilles
- Flex in the attic that's crushed, kinked, disconnected or sweating
What we do
- New duct systems for new builds and additions
- Full change outs on existing homes
- Reconnect, reseal and repair loose runs
- Add returns and supplies to rooms that won't cool
- Custom sheet metal plenums, transitions and trunk lines
- Balance the airflow
Why it matters here
Most Florida duct systems sit in the attic, and attics here get well past 130 degrees in the summer. A leak on the supply side dumps cold air into the attic. A leak on the return side pulls hot, wet attic air straight into the system. Fixing the duct can make an older system cool like a new one, and it's worth checking any time you replace equipment.
Leaky returns also pull attic dust and insulation into the house. More on that on our indoor air quality page.
